How to make a Dual axis chart in Tableau?

Nowadays, analyzing data is getting easy with the help of software like Tableau. Today I am going to tell you how tableau has made it easy for companies to analyze dual information simultaneously with the help of a dual axis chart. For example, if you want to analyze your sales and profit data together, you just need to follow the below steps to get it done.

For any set of data, open a sheet on Tableau and drag Sub-category on the x-axis as shown below, you can drag the product name or category as well as per your requirements.

Now drag the Sales y-axis. A bar chart will appear automatically of your selected data.

Now you may add profit on the y-axis as well, by doing this another bar chart of profits will occur on the same sheet.

A dotted chart will appear after this as shown below:

As you can see this chart is not giving very clear information, so you will convert sales data into bar charts and profit data into a line chart. To do this, you will click on the drop-down arrow of sales >Mark type>bar

By doing this, all sales data will be applied as a bar chart, now you will do the same with profit and click on the line to see profit data as a line graph on the same sheet as shown below.

So, this is how you can easily analyze your sales and profit data on a single sheet. This will not only make it easy for you to make future decisions but it will also save a lot of your time.
